The RECHERCHEN study project, which has been organized annually by the HfMT Hamburg since 2022, will be making a guest appearance this year in the (new) rooms of the LICHTHOF Theater, not far from the television tower in Rentzelstraße, in public space and in the LICHTHOF itself - at "Stimme X", the Hamburg festival for contemporary music theater. The participating students of drama theater directing, music theater directing and dramaturgy research their own topics independently and free of content requirements and develop productions and performances from their materials. At the heart of the project is a laboratory-like working method that moves between experimentation and conceptualization, rehearsal and research, observation and action.
With works by, among others: Jun Ahn, Lori Maria Brückner, Clara Brezinka, Georg Dirlack, Marie Fuchs, Henrik Hinze, Leonard Kaiser, Anna Maria Kluth, Rongji Liao, Iván Ruge, Mira Seesemann.

We save Pöseldorf
by KIOSK TANTE PÖ
Pöseldorf. A lonely, expensive and very boring district. The streets, the houses, the faces: empty. There are no more places to meet because of all the discretion. The district has closed itself off, is completely removed from reality. And so cocaine and tax evasion dominate the lives of many people. A vicious circle that is difficult to break. As usual, politicians are doing nothing about it. That's why we have to save Pöseldorf now.
Let's breathe life into Pöseldorf that it has gentrified away for itself.
So come to the grand opening of Pöseldorf's first kiosk:
the KIOSK TANTE PÖ!
With your donations, we will buy a property and turn it into an autonomous center where encounters, exchange, art and culture can find space so that Pöseldorf can breathe again.
Let's give Pöseldorf a new chance. Pöseldorf. Our new neighborhood.
Wednesday, June 26, 7 pm, Pöseldorf, Licentiatenberg

Nirgendstadt計畫
by Cora Durmann, Cara Golenhofen, Leonard Kaiser, Rongji Liao and Xiaohan Xue
For many years, we have tried to find a perfect place to live in our city: a place where nature and industry no longer violently contradict each other, where peaceful seagull cries prevail instead of escalation. The days are relaxed: Sunbathing on the Elbe beach. A warm wind blows through HafenCity and Kleiner Grasbrook. We hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, breed cows in the evening and discuss philosophy after dinner.
Memories, texts, images and sound recordings from "Elysion", "Tao Hua Yuan" and Hamburg are collected in the performative installation Nirgendstadt (in German, Chinese and English) - fictions and reality come face to face.
Thursday, June 27, from 7 p.m., LICHTHOF Rentzelstraße
Saturday, June 29, 6 p.m., Festival Stimme X, LICHTHOF Rentzelstraße
UMARME oder auch nicht
by Clara Brezinka and Marie Fuchs
An everyday ritual: eye contact is followed by a benevolent smile. Two people approach each other and place their arms on each other's backs. A hug can be a greeting, comfort, joy and so much more. However, this type of encounter is not always desired by both people. How does consensus arise and communicate between bodies? And how are self-worth or prejudices related to the performance of this gesture, which can be both everyday and intimate? A musical and choreographic research performance about embraces between consensus and convention.
UMARMUNGS-TEAM: Niyousha Azari (performance), Clara Brezinka (director), Marie Fuchs (dramaturgy), Lina Helfrich (performance), Katharina Jensen (clarinet), Luca Manuel Krebs Mbiene (performance), Moritz Reichel (performance), Arthur Sebastiao (composition), Charlotte du Vinage (viola), Mouna Weitz (costume)

Alltag in der Sonderrechtszone
By and with Aschif Kasem, Charly Leo Schmidt, Constanze Kaiser, Georg Dirlack & Lina Klavora
The performance "Alltag in der Sonderrechtszone" deals with the area in St. Pauli Süd designated by the police as a "dangerous place". Here, the Hamburg police have been harassing residents and refugees as well as racial profiling for years. Who is talking and who is listening? What sounds can be heard and what music does the place carry? Which movements are repeated?
How can the stories present here be told? From which position do we speak? What remains unheard here?
Thursday, June 27, 5:30 p.m., Park Fiction
¡Buenas! ¿Se puede?
from eight interviews
with texts by the ensemble, Marcel-Tobias Schreiber and Iván Ruge
The extension of our residence permit is one of the curses that we, who have not inherited any privileges or territorial affiliation, have to endure.
This musical-theatrical event brings together testimonials from different people. The focus is on the critical reflection of experiences during a bureaucratic process: an extension of a residence permit in Germany.

Loneliness
by Huijoon Ahn
Small music theater freely inspired by "Gretchen am Spinnrade" by Franz Schubert
My loneliness repeats itself, like the steady turning of a spinning wheel. I speak words that no one understands or wants to understand. My loneliness grows with each turn, an endless cycle. I incessantly repeat the same phrases, over and over again. The wheel turns on and on, inexorably and constantly.

An untitled piece
by anonymous
This piece does not yet have a title. It consists of a few thoughts, a bit of text, a lot of history and conversations and a few tears. You have to be there for more. Not everything can be said everywhere and not everything can be included in an announcement text. Some things have to be confided face to face.
Content Note: Thematization of sexualized violence.
