DRAMA! 2024
The DRAMA! festival will take place for the 5th time from 24 - 27 October. The teaching and learning format has become deeply engrained in the hearts and minds of students. For some it is the best experience of their studies, for others it is the start of long-term working friendships.
The festival has also become a fixed address for talent scouts such as dramaturges, publishers and drama directors.
This year, we are bringing together students from four universities in three cities. In addition to the actors, directors and dramaturges from the Theaterakademie, the actors from Hanover and the authors from the UdK, a directing student from the Ernst-Busch-Hochschule in Berlin is also taking part.
For three of this year's authors, German is not their native language. They come from China, Italy and Chile. They study in Berlin and write in German. They are joined by actors and directors from Ukraine and Poland. This gives the festival a special aspect of internationality.

If only I understood your heart

It beats.

A fox in the snow under an old tree that falls
By Peppa Camila Briones

Bzz bald or bumblebee monologues
by Alice Muitoevoli Rugai
The memories of my grandparents' garden, the leaves and the GREEN have faded and disappeared. Only the bumblebee and its love can save us from nostalgia. What do the bees have to tell us? And how can we learn to deal with the dystopia out there?

Leiben
By Sunan Gu
In a foreign country, in Germany, they have transformed their bodies. When the festival comes to an end, when homesickness takes over, do they remember the stories at night that everyone in China knows? A ghost paints on human skin and puts it on. "Is it the face you once dreamed of?" Leiben - a "Chinese story" without "Chinese".
