Opera Gala

This marks the tenth time that the master class—supported by the Lucia Thörl Foundation—has been held for students in the Master’s in Opera program. At the start of the new academic year in the winter semester, the opera class invites an internationally renowned singer to Hamburg for all students in the Master’s in Opera program—this year, Prof. Ursula Hesse von den Steinen. The mezzo-soprano has made a sensation worldwide as an interpreter of Wagner and Strauss and can be seen in world premieres by important contemporary composers. Over several days of intensive collaboration, the students will benefit from the vocal and dramatic expertise gained from a long-standing career on major opera stages. The students in the Master’s in Opera program will present the results of the master class at the final concert.
