The application period for the winter semester 2025/26 for the teaching degree program in Theater begins on 15.02.25 and ends on 01.04.25.

1st stage

Entrance examination requirements

For the first stage of the entrance examination, please submit the following documents as an upload as part of the online application:

  • Letter of motivation (max. 5,400 characters, incl. spaces, 1.5 lines)
  • Written analysis of the provided production "A Taste of Disobedience" (max. 5,400 characters, incl. spaces, 1.5 lines)

2nd stage

The second stage of the entrance exam will take place between May 19 and 22, 2025 in Hamburg.

Entrance examination requirements

The second stage of the entrance examination in presence consists of the following parts:

  • a freely chosen and independently prepared individual scenic presentation with a maximum duration of 3 minutes (performance, dance, improvisation or similar)
  • a scenic group task on a task set on site
  • an interview with the entrance examination committee focusing on your interest in contemporary theater and educational mediation processes, among other things

Special feature for the teaching degree for secondary level I and II (LASek):

  • In addition, a reading assignment in which you are to summarize and comment on a short text that you receive 20 minutes in advance in conversation with the admissions committee.
