  • The letter of motivation is a cover letter that outlines your assessment of your own qualifications in relation to your choice to study school music and describes the task you have selected for the examination component, “Musical Group Leadership” = “Group Leader Exam.” Please be sure to also specify your chosen area of specialization for your major (classical or jazz/rock/pop).

• Evidence of fieldwork: Documentation of 50 hours of fieldwork in a field relevant to music therapy
• Evidence of specific interests in music therapy (e.g., documentation of continuing education courses, workshops, and lectures)
• Proof of C1-level German proficiency for applicants from abroad: Goethe-Zertifikat C1, TestDaF Level 4, DSH-2, telc C1.

  External applicants who are not completing their Master's degree at the HfMT HH must submit two expert opinions from distinguished artists.

• Written term paper (approx. 3-5 pages) according to the thematic specifications of the entrance examination committee. Topic of the term paper: "Analysis and critique of a musical theater performance you attended" (no DVD)
  • (Note on the requirements for the term paper: Describe a musical theater production that you have recently attended. Analyze all aspects of the performance and then give your own opinion on it. If possible, refer to a live performance, not a digitally transmitted production)
