Students are introduced to a variety of methods and transdisciplinary perspectives within performative pedagogy, improvisation as a method and tool, and the initiation of creative processes. The Embodied Musician: Exploring the dynamic role of the body in music education. The Body as an Instrument.

Body-Centered Experiences:
Observing and understanding bodily relationships, bodily connections, movement sequences, and posture based on living anatomy and the connection between breath and movement.
Sequences on perception, tension laboratory—posture—balance—physical presence—physical-mental connections—movement coordination and isolation; discovering one’s own range of expression, physically, with and without an instrument.
Communication and interaction within the group, introduction to nonverbal communication, and cultivation of movement expression.

Music-centered experiences: instrumental experiments and improvisations; rhythm and meter.
Transformation of self-image and improvement of neuromuscular pathways and coordination.
