Description

Students gain an overview of the history of music therapy in Germany, Europe, and worldwide. They become familiar with the key theories, schools, and methods of music therapy and learn to situate them within the fields of medicine, education, psychotherapy, and music. In doing so, they reflect on their theoretical
foundations, their view of human nature and understanding of illness, methodological characteristics, prevalence and significance, evidence base, and the role of music. The seminar concludes with an overview of the current state of research in music therapy.
