Harp entrance exam

The application period for the summer semester 2026 begins on 01.12.25 and ends on 10.01.26 (only applies to the postgraduate course Konzertexamen). For the winter semester 2026/27, the application period begins on 15.02.26 and ends on 01.04.26

For a successful application to the Instrumental Music Harp course, the following steps are required within the application deadline:

• Receipt of online application incl. upload of supporting documents
• Receipt of application fee (payment information at the end of the completed online application)

Your application will only be considered if all the steps described have been completed in full within the application deadline and the online application and application fee have been received.

The following works must be prepared as repertoire for the entrance examination:

• Classical piece (Bochsa, Naderman or similar)
• One optional piece

All works must be performed from memory (except duo sonatas and contemporary works). Complete works must be prepared. It is not sufficient to offer only individual movements, unless this is explicitly requested. In the examination, the commission will select parts taking into account the respective time frame.

To help you prepare for the exams in the subsidiary subjects of general music theory and aural training, we offer you some sample exams.

The following works must be prepared as repertoire for the entrance examination:

• Classical piece
• Virtuoso piece
• Work from the 20th century (Britten, Casella, Hindemith or similar)

All works must be performed from memory (except duo sonatas and contemporary works). Complete works must be prepared. It is not sufficient to offer only individual movements, unless this is explicitly requested. The commission will select parts in consideration of the respective time frame.

The following works must be prepared as repertoire for the entrance examination:

• a complete solo or chamber music program containing important works from at least three periods relevant to the chosen instrument
• two concertos with orchestra

All works must be performed from memory.
