Entrance examination tuba

The application period for the summer semester 2026 begins on 01.12.25 and ends on 10.01.26 (concert exam only). For the winter semester 2026/27, the application period begins on 15.02.26 and ends on 01.04.26

For a successful application to the Instrumental Music Tuba program, the following steps are required within the application deadline:

• Receipt of online application incl. upload of supporting documents
• Receipt of application fee (payment information at the end of the completed online application)
• Receipt of video link (to be submitted as an unlisted YouTube video)

Your application will only be considered if all the steps described have been completed in full within the application deadline and the online application and application fee have been received.

After the application deadline, a pre-selection will be made from the applications received on the basis of the videos and this selection will be invited to a 2nd selection round on site.

Below you will find further information on the requirements for the entrance exam.

The following works must be prepared as repertoire for the entrance examination:

• one work from the Baroque period
• one original work for tuba
• one work from sheet music will be presented (prima vista)

The total length should be approx. 15 minutes and one of the two works must be performed with piano accompaniment.

• 15 minutes program
• at least two different epochs
• individual movements of different works may be played
• it is allowed to cut between the movements

The program can be chosen independently and does not have to correspond to the program for the presence round.

• one work from sight-reading will be presented (prima vista)

• individual movements of different works may be played
• it is allowed to cut between the movements
