The application period for the 2027 summer semester begins on December 1, 2026, and ends on January 10, 2027. For the 2027–28 winter semester, the application period begins on February 15, 2027, and ends on April 1, 2027.
To successfully apply for the Instrumental Music (Horn) program, the following steps must be completed within the application period:
- Submission of the online application, including the upload of supporting documents
- Receipt of the application fee (payment information is provided at the end of the completed online application)
- Upload of a video link
Your application will only be considered if all the steps described above are completed in full within the application period and both the online application and the application fee have been received.

The second round of the entrance exam is expected to take place on 12.06.2026. in presence.
Bachelor's degree
Entrance examination requirements
After the application deadline, a pre-selection will be made from the applications received on the basis of the videos and this selection will be invited to a 2nd selection round (probably on site).
Video requirements
For the video recording test, the following works must be recorded and uploaded as a video within the application deadline:
-a low etude of your own choice by Hackleman.
-exposition, development and cadenza from Mozart's Horn Concerto K. 447 OR K. 495
Piano accompaniment is not required. The etude and the concerto can be recorded in different takes.
At the beginning of the video, please hold a piece of paper with your name and your repertoire for round 1 clearly visible in front of the camera or fade in your prepared pieces as text.
Technical notes on video recording:
- currently recorded
- unedited
- Pieces are played without repetitions
- cuts between the pieces are allowed (one take not necessary)
- fixed camera perspective: body and face must be fully visible at all times
- good video and audio quality
Please make sure that the video is correctly named "Name.Firstname.Applicationnumber.Program.mp4"
Requirements 2nd round
The following works must be prepared as repertoire for the entrance examination on site:
- 2 works from different eras
(e.g. Nacturno - Franz Strauss / KV447 - W.A. Mozart)
The works do not have to be performed by heart.
To help you prepare for the exams in the subsidiary subjects of general music theory and aural training, we offer you some sample exams.
Master

Concert exam
After the application deadline, a pre-selection will be made from the applications received on the basis of the videos and this selection will be invited to a 2nd selection round (probably on site).

For the video recording test, the following works must be recorded and uploaded as a video within the application deadline:
- a concerto of your own choice by Mozart (complete) and
- a first movement of a romantic concerto
At the beginning of the video, please hold a clearly visible piece of paper with your name and repertoire for round 1 in front of the camera or show your prepared pieces as text.
Technical notes on video recording:

- unedited
- Pieces are played without repetitions
- cuts between the pieces are allowed (one take not necessary)
- fixed camera perspective: body and face must be fully visible at all times
